One, the other, in their hearts, they carried
They went around the palace like two love birds
Exchanging their love through looks and words
Manmathan shot his arrows with all his might
At Rama and Sita throughout the night
But their love for each other was a smokeless flame
The smoke of lust disappeared, tame
For, their love for each other was purely divine
To express which they didn't have to entwine
All they did was to sit by each other
Hold their hands, leaning shoulder to shoulder
Rama was not just the delight of Sita
But was the source of joy to all of Ayodhya
He was the very embodiment of goodness
The highest standard of psychological fitness
He never did speak a word of lie
To cravings of pleasure He bid good bye
He chose His words before He spoke
Careful of sensitive feelings, not to evoke
He was generous enough to give anything away
For the needy and helpless who came His way
Once He gave, He forgot that
And never did He speak about that
He was beautiful like a painting with no error
Yet He never looked at Himself in the mirror
He never thought of His own greatness
To all that He did, He was also a quite witness
He was gentle, polite and well behaved
With a physic so strong like a stone engraved
A perfect blend of character and strength
His glories were sung throughout the nation's length
He was powerful like the sun
And pleasant like the moon
He was a bull in might
And a tiger in fight
He was like a lion, cool and majestic
Also like an ant, busy and energetic
He walked like an elephant with affirmative strides
This was proof that He would conquer the timely tides
He took time to spend with the elderly crowd
Fell at their feet to make them happy and proud
He often walked among common men
Enquiring their well being, quite often
"If there is anything that you lack, please tell me
I'll talk to my father and make him see
For my father is ever devoted to you
Your welfare his breath, as far as I knew"
He respected men of every like
A cobbler and a goldsmith, all alike
For He always kept one thing at heart
That all of them played their significant part
When people yelled at Him in misunderstanding
He never held that in His heart for later fuming
He talked to them with words polite and humble
Hearing which they started to smile, stopping to grumble
In every problem He could see the solution
With an intellect unclouded with prejudicial conclusion
He always spoke words of wisdom and love
To which every head in His kingdom did bow
His father and King, heard all about this
Through his numerous subjects, as it is
Grew prouder and happier day by day
Summoned Rama to his court one fine day
Rama went and fell at His father's feet
And then in the hall, took His seat
The King watched his son with ultimate pride
With awe in his eyes that were open wide
"Son, from the day you took birth
I am the happiest man on the earth
Everyday I hear news about you
My citizens and subjects expressing their view"
"Your popularity grows day by day
People trust you in every way
My hair does grow day by day
Changing its colour from black to grey"
"I think it is time for me to retire
And make you dress the King's attire"
Hearing this the crowd whistled and cheered
The proud King smiled, caressing his beard
Rama was unmoved by the change of events
With a stoic mind, He spoke His comments
"Father, thy wish is my command
I am born to do what thy demand"
Thus was decided Shri Rama's coronation
Setting the entire country in gleeful celebration
The entire nation sung with a voice so warm
Jai Shri Ram! Jai Jai Shri Ram!!
