My Lord's Story: Goodness Incarnate

Ramayanam in English poetry.

The Supreme Lord of the Universe was once born on this earth as a Human Being, faced challenges and had His share of pain and pleasure going through both good and bad times like any of us. Like any of us He too, took His turn in laughter and cry.

This humility of The Lord, that makes Him come down to earth and share with us our difficulties to show us a way to handle them is what I admire in Him. This quality of Him, makes me surrender to Him unconditionally and makes me want to sing His Glory on and on and on.

My Lord's Story is an out pour of my devotion that seeps out in gratitude for the pains He took to be a lighthouse for us, to cross the ocean of Samsara.

The God of Truth.

Happy Gandhi Jayanthi.

I wish to share my thoughts about The Mahathma.

To me Mahathma is no less than an incarnation of God. That too as a devotee of Rama, I look upon him as an miniature of Lord Rama. To substantiate my statement let me share two observations of mine.

Once our freedom fighters were going on a procession shouting slogans praising Gandhiji. A few of them were attacked by a few police men. The mass in return burnt down the police station and attacked the police men. Gandhiji was disappointed that his followers acted in such brutal way. He called back the non cooperation movement and went on fasting. People became sad. They promised that they never will repeat the mistake again. They went on streets giving garlands to the Police and British soldiers. This incident to me is a miracle. Something like Krishna lifting a mountain with his little finger. I wonder how people could love a man so much. They were ready to be kicked and wounded, only to do what he expected of them. They were ready to sacrifice even their lives under his leadership. They cared nothing about their food clothing and shelter. All they wanted was to do what Gandhi expected of them.

In my understanding, this is the power of Goodness. The power of faith in Truth.

The same incident is there in Lord Rama's life too.

When Lord Rama goes on exile, to the forest, people of Ayodhya came behind him. They left their belongings and houses. There were children, women and the old in the crowd that followed him. They said they do not want to live in a city where Rama was absent. They said they preferred the forest. They said, "It is the people who make the city. We will come with you to the jungle and make the jungle a city. Let the animals come to this city and let it become forest."

I believe in heaven and hell. I believe all those who lead a life of goodness will defintely go to heaven. In that perspective it is my belief that all the freedom fighters of India, must be in heaven now. That is because they followed Gandhiji. Gandhiji inspired them to do good, walk the path of goodness and helped them reach heaven.

In Rama's life this happens. After he ruled for more than ten thousands he was invited back to heaven by the creator, Brahma. He gave all the responsibilties to his sons and chose a day to return to his heavenly abode. On that day he decided to enter the river Sarayu and caste off his body. He entered the river, following him the whole population of Ayodhya entered it. Rama arose from the river with resplendent glory as Vishnu and went back to his divine abode. Following him all men, women and chidren went to heaven. There the creator Brahma created a new heaven, a special one, only for them.

This is the quality of a true leader. He must not just fight for the rights and comfort of people on earth, but he must also assure for them a place in heaven. Our Mahathma achieved it with perfection. This is my firm conviction.

To me Mahathma is a Rama. Who inspired people on the path of Goodness and Peace.

To me Mahathma is a Jesus Christ. Who lived a life of sacrifice. Who bore pain, for no error he commited, only for the sake of his men. Who taught people to love their enemies.

To me Mahathma is a Buddha. The enlightened one.

To me Mahathma is a God. The God of truth.

Anybody can say Gandhi is not good. But you need to substantiate what you said. You may feel anything, that doesn't mean you are right. We got independence because of this man's strategy. Before that for 200 long years we couldn't manage to do anything. Only after Gandhi intervened, the freedom struggle gained momentum. You give a stupid statement, "If not for Gandhi, India would have got Independence long before" Then why did it need Gandhi? Then why didn't we get independence before him? Why didn't someone Else's strategy work out. A person works hard and finishes a job, after he finishing the job you go and say if I had done it I would have finished it earlier. Any dull headed idiot can give such a statement. That doesn't nullify the greatness of the one who accomplished the task.
This simply means that you are one of the many ungrateful Indians who live in Independent India at the cost of so many freedom fighter's lives and still speak ill of them. You don't realize how much pain they have underwent. Each freedom fighter is a Jesus Christ. They shed blood and suffered pain forgoing all selfishness. If you really think you have spoken sense, explain clearly why you think Gandhi is not good enough?

vemuri said...

i never said gandhi isn't good enough he is good and i knoe only because of him we got independence..

do u know when non-voilence thing was happening in india do u have any idea of how many people died and how many indian women got raped in public by the britishers and indians were in a non-voilence attitude..
jus watching that blindly.(i think death after a fight is better thn death after a physical abusement.and that too in public)

and if gandhi was god why was he mudered like why did godse killed him??? do u know godse was a scholar and he had a reason to kill him jus read his bio-graphy u'll know what made him kill gandhi

you what happen to gandhi's son.. he never cared for him jus see the movie "gandhi my father" desh keliye ladra ha tho kya beta beta nahi hota kya?? agar uthna hi desh bare me soch raha ho tho beta ko kuin paida ki....

listen u and me discussing this doesn't make any difference to the world or india for that matter

as u said ur feeling or my feeling doesn't change the truth
if we start arguing this thing it'll never end like i start something and u'll start another else it jus continues..
the bst thing is u and i are in free india and proud to be so....

P.S: no offence meant. dil pe mat le yaar//

Gandhi chose non-violence because he wanted each and every house holder to participate in the freedom struggle. At that time the only strength we had was population and we had to use it in a proper way. You must understand that British generals were trying to arouse anger and make Indians loose their determination in non-violence. If they had reacted at that time it would have been one more reason for them to punish Indians judicially. That was trick played by the British generals at that time. When it was decided that non-violence is the path all kinds of sufferings were expected and Gandhi had promised only suffering for the ones who came behind him. Those who accepted this never got angry with Gandhi. The ones who killed Gandhi were Hindu extremists.Gothse was brain washed by them, thats all. You want me to read Gothse's autobiography. Even Auto Shankar has an autobiography. I didn't understand what you told in Hindi. You watch HEY RAM. i didn't see Gandhi my Father. But I know in that case Gandhi was not wrong. They blame Gandhi that he went abroad to study, but he did not allow his son to do so. They don't realize that he had nothing against the britishers until he was not given the right to travel in the train in first class, inspite of having a ticket, in Africa. Only then he formed his principles. Before that he was an ordinary man like you and me. If a son desires a lot of things his father doesn't want to do, he will obviously hate him. He got converted to Islam. Then he got converted back to hinduism. He was not a man of steady mind. Men without determination can never understand Gandhi.Gandhi fought for harijan's, which the high caste hindu's did not like. You say blindly Indians were standing and watching when women were raped by the britisher's. Why didn't the ones who killed Gandhi do anything to chase the Britishers out of India? They simply did nothing. :)Don't tell they were trying on the side of Subash Chandra Bose. Subash Chandra Bose had nothing to do with the killing of Gandhi.More over you read Let's Kill Gandhi, you'll know the true reason behind killing him. You say you and me discussing this will never change the world. Again you are wrong. We need to understand good people, so that we can be good. If we are not good, we will make this earth another hell. You just see what these politicians have done to each and every system in India. Even a postman is not happy to give your money order without tips. What kind of society are we living in? Among 100 crore population only one Ahinav Bindra can come up. Do you accept that only he is capable of doing that? I am not the kind who hates anyone who speak against my point of view, but I have been thinking about these things for a very long time and very disappointed with the attitude of people. Under Gandhi's leadership people worked selflessly expecting nothing. But today without money you can't even get water. Even to do their duty men are expecting bribes. Shame sir. What happened to the Indian spirit?

vemuri said...

hmmmm i can give u a reply to wat u said... but its useles like i don beleive in argumentss they don result in any sollution....

anf final point u said...i gues ur right... the whole system is corrupted.... this reminds me of a article i read at bbc...
its says,, that if india was corruption less india's gdp would rise more thn 50%....

some one has to change a systemm

and yeah i do not give bribes to any one.. and try to follow all the rules. i in my own way try to reduce corruption.... may be small way i dooo...

Its true, if we keep on arguing it will go on and on. I too don't believe in arguments. But you need to understand something, blaming anyone is very easy, putting yourself in their shoes and understanding them is quiet difficult. If you want to understand people like Gandhi don't just use your brain. Use your heart.
