My Lord's Story: Goodness Incarnate

Ramayanam in English poetry.

The Supreme Lord of the Universe was once born on this earth as a Human Being, faced challenges and had His share of pain and pleasure going through both good and bad times like any of us. Like any of us He too, took His turn in laughter and cry.

This humility of The Lord, that makes Him come down to earth and share with us our difficulties to show us a way to handle them is what I admire in Him. This quality of Him, makes me surrender to Him unconditionally and makes me want to sing His Glory on and on and on.

My Lord's Story is an out pour of my devotion that seeps out in gratitude for the pains He took to be a lighthouse for us, to cross the ocean of Samsara.

16 words Ramayana

Born Raised Educated Empowered
Married Excelled Renounced Melted
Lost Searched Destroyed Flourished
Sacrificed Heartbroken Ruled Returned

Lord Rama was born as the son of Queen Kausalya and King Dasaratha of Ayodhya fulfilling their longtime wish to have a Son and wiping of their longing and sorrow. This was a classical example of His innate nature which is, giving unlimited happiness and wiping of misery.
Lord Rama was raised with a Golden Spoon. He was loved and pampered by Kausalya, Dasaratha, Sumithra and Kaikeyi. In spite of all the pampering, He grew up as a responsible and well-disciplined Good Boy in the company of His three brothers, Lakshman, Bharatha and Shathrughna.
Lord Rama was educated in an Ashram in the forests by Sage Vashishta. Lord Rama learnt all the Vedas, to the Tee, in just one year. He had an amazing memory and a powerful grasping capability. He excelled in Vedas, Maths, Science, Astrology, Astronomy, Archery, Martial Arts, Music, Fine Arts, Administration, Economy, Philosophy, Religion, and Warfare. In short, there was nothing Vashishta did not know and there was nothing Vashishta did not teach Lord Rama.
Lord Rama was empowered by Vishwamitra. Vishwamitra taught Him, the Bala and AthiBala Manthra. These two Manthras, made Lord Rama immensely strong, kept Him fresh always, warded away evil forces and protected Him from surprise attacks from Rakshashas. Once Lord Rama defeated the Rakshashas who were obstructing  Vishwamitra's Yagna, Vishwamitra also gave Lord Rama, all His celestial weapons which He obtained from Lord Shiva after performing Long Penance.
5. Married:
Lord Rama Married Mother Sita after breaking a bow of Lord Shiva. Breaking the bow was set as the criteria to Marry Sita. Again, Lord Rama, true to His innate nature, gave unlimited happiness to King Janka and Queen Sunaina of Mithila, and wiped their longtime worries in finding a suitable Groom for their daughter.
6. Excelled:
After His Marriage, Lord Rama lived in Ayodhya as a Happy, Energetic and Good-Hearted Prince. He was fully grown-up and therefore kept Himself busy in serving the People of Ayodhya and all of Kosala City. In case of wild animals troubling the villagers or Rakshashas giving trouble to common men, He personally went out and dealt with such issues. He served as the eyes and ears of Dasaratha when He met the people and He served as the mouth-piece of the people when He met Dasaratha. He gained undisputed original popularity
King Dasaratha offered Him The Throne. People were are all immensely happy. But Kaikeyi, created a dispute. Lord Rama walked away to the forest in simple attire renouncing all the wealth and Princely life.
*Lord Rama melted seeing the Love People of Ayodhya had for Him. They followed Him to the jungle renouncing their wealth and homes. They were ready to establish a new city in soem part of the jungle and make Ayodhya a jungle by renouncing it completely.
*Lord Rama Melted before Guha's Love. Guha was the King of a hunter clan that flourished on the banks of the Ganges. He offered His Kingdom for Lord Rama to Rule.
*Lord Rama Melted on seeing the tears of His Father's Friend and Minister Sumanthra. Sumanthra was heart-broken and cried bitterly while Lord Rama departed for the jungle.
*.Lord Rama was treated with immense Respect and Love by all the Sages and Devotees He met in the jungle, beginning from Sage Bharathvaja to Devotee Sabhari. Lord Rama was immensely touched and moved by all the Love He was shown. Every such meeting was an Melting experience for Lord Shri Rama!
*Lord Rama Melted on seeing the Enthusiasm shown by the monkeys during their March to Lanka. Especially by the enthusiasm shown by a squirrel while it tried to help the bridge by wetting itself in the water, rolling on the sand, running on to the bridge and fill the gaps by shaking of the sand into the gaps.
*Lord Rama melted on seeing the trust Vibheeshana had on Him. It is at this point that Lord Rama makes a statement, that He would accept, protect, and uplift anyone who comes unto Him in Total Surrender, know matter what His past has been.
*Above all Lord Rama melted on seeing the selfless service Lord Hanuman did for Him. He humbly says that He does not have anything to offer in return and therefore requests Hanuman to accept His Hug as His Humble Gift.
Melt is the ultimate word to describe Ramayana in one word. Ramayana melts our heart and in the flow of tears are washed away all our sins and ignorance and along with it goes away all out troubles in life.
Lord Rama looses Mother Sita in the jungle, while He goes chasing an exotic deer.
Lord Rama along with His Brother Lakshman go in search of Mother Sita.
Though after trying truce, Lord Rama completely destroyed Shri Lanka which was at par with the heavens along with its King and army.
*Lord Rama's Heart and Face bloomed and flourished with Happiness as He got His Beloved Wife Sita.
*Lord Rama returned to His Wealthy Life and Flourished again, like while He was a prince.
*The City Ayodhya and All of Kosala Flourished under Lord Rama's Rule which was a Golden Rule.
Lord Rama had to sacrifice His Wife, Sita while She was Pregnant. He had to so as His people did not realise the purity of Mother Sita. And He had no way to prove Her Purity to His people. Now this would give room for His judgment being questioned in the future. This couldn't be allowed to happen, as, in Justice lies Order of a nation. And in Order lies its peace. The People can respect a Ruler Only if His actions are impeccable. Even if there is one doubt in the minds of His People about His loyalty to the constitution, then they will loose faith in the Leader as well as in the System. Keeping these things in mind, Lord Rama, decided to Renounce Mother Sita and made it clear that He was not tolerant towards anyone. By doing that He did not just keep Order in His country, but also made the people who talked about Mother Sita shut their Mouth. By which, He did the duties of a King and a Husband, par beyond excellence.
Lord Rama was Heart-Broken after He renounced Mother Sita. She was pregnant and He was dreaming of taking care of Her and their new born child like the pupils of His eyes. Now all His dreams were shattered. He had nothing but, the memories of His beloved wife. This was pain beyond imagination for Lord Rama. Lord Rama's moon-sign and ascendant sign were Cancer. Being a Cancerian who had emotional attachment even with the things He uses, Renouncing His Wife, that too while She was pregnant with their first child, broke Lord Rama's Heart completely.
Though some of His people did not understand Him completely, He never showed any partiality or hatred towards them. Like a Mother taking care of Her children and like a Father Guiding His Children in Good ways, He Ruled His country with Love and Honour. His people lacked for nothing. There was no disease, crime, poverty, confusion or chaos. Every single citizen reached to his maximum potential. Every single citizen was healthy, wealthy, self-realised and Happy. In the due course of His Rule, People did regret for being the cause of separation between Their Beloved King and Their Impeccable Queen. Anyway it was too late.
Lord Rama, The Human Incarnation of Maha Vishnu, returned to His Divine abode, The Vaikunta. He drowned Himself in the Sarayu River. The people of Ayodhya, who had by now developed immense love for their King, not wanting to live anymore, drowned themselves too in the waters of Sarayu like Their King. Maha Vishnu arose from the Water's of Sarayu River and Hopped on to His Vehicle, The Mighty Garuda. The Mighty Garuda was happy beyond limit to take His Lord Back to Vaikunta. Following Maha Vishnu all the souls of the Citizens, animals and plants of Ayodhya, traveled towards Vaikunta. Brahma created a New Heaven for those Noble Souls.
