A prediction

In 2013, 1 Tuesday, I chanted a whole day praising Rama's Feet. The next day morning I had a dream. In it I won an Oscar. I'll win 4 sure.

The Ultimate Liberator!

For the seekers of knowledge
Can there be a knowledge?
better than
The Knowledge of The Divine, Shri Rama!

The one who liberated
Even the blades of grasses
And all the swarms of ants

Leaving none behind
That ever existed
In the Good City of Ayodhya

And placed them in
An exotic heaven
Created exclusively for them
By the Great Grandshire Brahma!

-Nammazhvaar

Ramayanam is Agriculture
Bhagavatham is Harvest
-Me

The twin-syllable, Rama
When a devotee exalts!
The Birth-Death cycle
It permanently halts

Goodness and Wealth
It everyday brings
Sin and poverty
It cleanses and shrinks

-Kambar

Goodness Honesty Sweetness Simplicity
Gentleness Strength Humility Bravery
Valour Talent Prowess Success
Memory Trustworthiness Heroism Genuinity
Such adorable qualities and so much more
By chanting Rama's name you will score!

My Lord's Story: Goodness Incarnate

Ramayanam in English poetry.

The Supreme Lord of the Universe was once born on this earth as a Human Being, faced challenges and had His share of pain and pleasure going through both good and bad times like any of us. Like any of us He too, took His turn in laughter and cry.

This humility of The Lord, that makes Him come down to earth and share with us our difficulties to show us a way to handle them is what I admire in Him. This quality of Him, makes me surrender to Him unconditionally and makes me want to sing His Glory on and on and on.

My Lord's Story is an out pour of my devotion that seeps out in gratitude for the pains He took to be a lighthouse for us, to cross the ocean of Samsara.

Numuerous years for our beloved Lord!

Numerous years Lord! Numerous years Lord!
Many crores of thousands of years!
Oh Mighty shouldered Manivanna!
who ruled all wrestling games! (1)

May you and me be like this for,
numerous thousands of years!
May the beautiful lady in your right chest
Live for as many years!
May the discus that emits supreme brightness
Live for as many years!
May the conch that You blow during wartimes
Live for as many years! (2)

Those who want to live a good life,
Bring holy-mud and flowers!
Those who do not care for your life
are not permitted here!
We have never earned a bad name
in the past, all time!
Let’s all praise the mighty warrior
who destroyed Srilanka (3)

Before your body reaches its grave,
come do join with us
If you have a heart to join us,
you’ll be showered with boons
Those who have a heart to chant,
Om Namo Narayana
In a way that all the world would hear it,
Wish the Lord with many many years! (4)

He who owns the Universe and
all the beings in it
Rooted out all heartless beings,
those tortured innocent ones
To that dark haired Saviour,
All those who are in His service must
Wish Him with many many many years
Falling at His Feet (5)

My dear father, his father
his grand father and so on
One after the other we have always
celebrated Thiruvonam
During an evening He who came as
a lion and killed a king
Wish Him with many many many years
and your bondage shall be broke (6)

The fire spitting reddish bright discuss
as a symbol has been marked
on our bodies who do with our, families
work for our beloved Lord
Bana with his thousand shoulders
fought a cunning war
Wish the Lord with many many many years,
Who cut off Bana’s shoulders (7)

For The Lord who gives us Rice and Ghee
and a chance to serve Him well
For the Lord who gives us desserts and
jewels for our necks and ears
For the Lord who gives us sandal paste
and makes us Holy souls
For the Lord whose flag is an enemy of snakes
Sing, wishing Him many many years (8)

We do dress the dress Oh Lord
That you wore and gave to us
We do wear the Thulasi that did
adorn you Oh beloved Lord
We do work and get Good Karma
During Thiruvonam celebrations
Many many years for you Oh Lord!
Who sleeps on a serpent (9)

The day our families decided to be your
slaves and serve you, Lord!
That day we got complete freedom
from all sufferings, Lord!
On a good day you took birth and
won the King of Vada Mathura
Many many years for you Oh Lord
Who danced on a serpent’s hoods (10)

Like the King of Koshtiyur in whose court
there are no cases of in-justice
I too Oh Lord long ago have become
Your sincere devotee
In a beautiful way, I would chant and spread
Om Namo Narayana
In many such ways I would sing praising you
with many many years Pure Lord! (11)

Wishing many many many many years
For the pure and Supreme Lord!
Villiputhur’s Vishnu Chitta sang these
verses for Sarnghabani
Only those whose good time begins
Sing with love these songs
And they would wish for the Lord with many years
Om Namo Narayana! (12)

The above twelve verses are a translation from Periyaazhwaar's Tamil Pasurams (verses) on Shriman Narayana. The book is titled Periyaazhwaar Thirumozhi. The twelve verses found above are collectively called the 'First Thirumozhi' under the chapter titled, 'First Ten'.
